June 30, 2016 – SYNCFAB hosted it’s second event with the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of San Leandro & San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Innovation STIR program for a private guided tour of North America’s leading supplier of remanufactured wind turbines right here in the East Bay!
Halus Power Systems established in 2000 designing, fabricating, and supplying meteorological testing towers for wind assessment. The Tour was well attended by fellow entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, supply chain professionals and chamber members!
The company expanded supply options in 2003 to include remanufactured wind turbines, and in 2004 to also include solar photovoltaic systems now they currently focus on supplying remanufactured commercial scale wind turbines and have supplied them for projects in over 25 states and internationally.
Halus Power Systems is North America’s leading supplier of remanufactured wind turbines and have supplied projects with the largest and widest capacity range of remanufactured wind turbines available anywhere.
They also design and manufacture many new wind turbine components including control systems. They stock many wind turbines from 90 kW to 500 kW at our 5 acre facility in San Leandro, California.
CEO Louis Rigaud was on hand to answer questions from a very eager crowd. Here, Daniel Maluendas, of Buenos Aires, Argentinia wind-power startup SEMTIVE looks on intently as Louis explains his consistent rebuilds for niche wind turbine projects.
Here Pilot City and Zip Power evangelist, Derick Lee, engages Louis about the turbine control board rebuild.
Halus Highlight Projects include: one 500 kW remanufactured Vestas turbine to Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds; three remanufactured Vestas 225 kW turbines to Texas Tech University in Lubbock, as part of the Scaled Wind Farm Technology Facility (SWIFT);
two remanufactured 100 kW turbines to Winterhof Farms, a commercial livestock operation in Aurelia, Iowa;
and a remanufactured 100 kW wind turbine for the city of Seadrift, Texas Water Treatment Plant!
Many Thanks to Halus Power Systems, the City of San Leandro, the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce for this special arrangement and to all who were able to participate! The tour gave a whole new level of appreciation for the remanufacture of Wind Turbines! Photos are not typically allowed inside private facilities so if you want to see for yourself be sure to sign up for our next tour! Who knows where our next stop may take us as we delve further into the landscape of modern American manufacturing in the San Francisco STIR Program this summer 2016!
